WEEK OF THE QUEEN!

This week of camp with Hungarian Grandmaster Emil Anka will primarily focus on the Queen! The theme of camp this week is understanding the Queen better--strengths in the opening, middlegame and endgame. Camp this week will involve many fun Queen-related puzzles and strategies specific to the piece.

Principal Instructors with Special guest Grandmaster Emil Anka:

GM Emil Anka has over 15 years of experience competing internationally as well as coaching chess at all levels from beginner to titled players. An international chess arbiter, Emil was the U17 and U20 Hungarian champion. He achieved his GM title in 2001 and is currently completing a sports education degree in Europe as well as coaching chess.

Experienced Chess4Life chess coach Elliott Neff works very closely with all of the chess coaches to pass on his experience. Elliott has 15 plus years of experience coaching and teaching chess. He currently is coach to multiple students in the top 100 list in the US for their age division.

Educational Program:

Opening, middle game, and end game studies Tournament games Specialties including: bughouse and puzzles

Daily Schedule:

9:00-10:45a.m. Morning Session (Drop off begins at 8:45) 10:45-12:15p.m. Tournament Style games with analysis of some 12:15-12:45p.m. Lunch Break 12:45-2:15p.m. Afternoon Session 2:15-3:45p.m. Tournament Style games with analysis of some 3:45-4:00p.m.* Free Play, Simuls, Bughouse, Blitz *There is a late fee charged for students picked up after 4:00p.m.

Additional Info:

Please bring chess clock if available. Chess set, board and carrying case available at camp for special rate of $20. An optional Early Drop off/pick up is available for an additional $5/hour. Email kids@chess4life.com if interested. There is a $40 cancellation fee.
