Description:

First and third Saturdays only - now open to ALL ratings USCF, all grades, coaches and parents welcome!

Ratings: Due to popular demand, SuperQuads on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month will now be USCF ONLY rated. Note that to play in the USCF rated events, each player must have a current USCF membership (available from United States Chess Federation ).

Registration:

Register online, in person, or with the Chess4Life office. Check in by 4:45, first round at 5pm. Note that there is a puzzle challenge at 4:30 for early comers.

Cost: $20, $15 for Chess4Life \"Gold\" Members

Eligible: Super Quads is for ALL players that have or wish to earn a USCF rating. They are intended for more serious players who need more time to think than the standard G/30 such as on Friday night quads. Students grades K-12 may participate. The environment is intended to be one of focused learning for those players wishing to rapidly improve their chess game. Students that are disruptive will be asked to leave. It is strongly recommended that all players record their games.

Bi-Monthly Event: Super Quads is scheduled for the first and third Saturday of each month, except for rare occasions - the website calendar will show which week(s) there is no event.

Schedule:

  • 4:30pm Players arrive, get checked in, play blitz, get warmed up, etc.
  • 4:45pm Puzzle Challenge: Players are given 5 minutes to solve a chess puzzle.
  • 4:50pm Solutions to the puzzle(s) are given.
  • 4:55pm Pairings are posted, players take their seats and fill out their score sheets.
  • 5:00pm Round 1 (as games finish, coaches review games and provide instruction)
  • 6:30pm Round 2 (same format for this round, except Quads can start Round 3 whenever they are ready)

    Format: Rated quads (4 players grouped according to rating, playing one game against each of the others)

    Time Control: G/45. Players are REQUIRED to use a chess clock.

    Eligible: K-12 students, coaches, and parents of students participating

    NOTE: Limited Space! Register early to ensure a spot!
