Special Material being taught in this camp includes the following for openings:
With White: some new and modern openings including Black side vs e4 French defense and one of GM Akobian specialty lines - 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 c6!? vs 1. d4, the Slav Defense and Benko.

With White: 1.d4 including openings KID, Slav, Grunfeld, QGD and QGA 1.e4 Sicilian, Ruy Lopez or Caro-Can.

Special Material being taught in this camp includes the following for endgames: Basic positions like Opposition, Philidor and Lucenas position More advanced very instructive Dvoretsky endgame positions.

Students will see some of GM Akobians new games from recent tournamnts, and will include some tactical and positional play, as well as some themes.

Additional Info:

Please bring chess clock if available. Chess set, board and carrying case combo available at camp for special rate of $20. There is a $30 cancellation fee.

Open to grades K-8, camp has maximum of 35 students, first come, first serve. Minimum rating of 1000, maximum rating of 1900. Lesson time will include lectures/instruction with GM Akobian followed by practice sessions. A tournament will be played also as part of camp (unrated so players can try out strategies). This tournament will be divided into players rated over 1350 and below 1350 so as to ensure best quality competition.

Cost of camp:

$250 (10% discount for siblings, 10% for gold members, max discount 15% per any one person combining discounts).
