Grades K-6 – top 4 players (based upon rating at the end of February) that can commit to playing on April 19th will be invited to ‘play-off’ on March 15th at the Chess4Life Center to determine who will represent their grade

What is it?

Play-Off Tournament to decide who will represent Washington State in the Washington/British Columbia International Scholastic Chess Match on April 19th, 2008 in Vancouver, Canada. This event involves top 2 representatives from each grade, K-12, from Washington and British Columbia. Each of these players plays 2 games, one as white and one as black, against their opponents from the same grade.

Participants: Grades K-6

The top 4 players from each grade that can commit to playing in Vancouver on April 19th will be invited to this special play-off to determine who will represent their grade. Time control for Grades K-6 is G/60.

Participants: Grades 7-12

The top 2 players from each grade that can commit to playing in Vancouver on April 19th and respond to Chess4Life by April 1st will represent Washington. Time control for Grades 7-12 is G/90.

If you're interested in participating in the playoff, please call us at (425)283-0549, or send an e-mail to kids@chess4life.com. If you're one of the top 4 players from your grade, and you can reasonably commit to playing on April 19th, you'll be given an invitation to the play-off on March 15th.
