Description:

Sponsored by the Organizers of the Mountlake Terrace Spring Fling, we are having a small BUGHOUSE event in the Lynnwood Area

This BUGHOUSE Event is like that we play at State (the night before). There are teams of 2 players (If you have a specific partner you want to play with, enter then in the "NOTES" at the time of registration.

We will play a total of 7 rounds, G/5. Each round consist of 2 games - a team plays one game, then partners switch colors and play again.

Sections are based on a maximum grade (like Nationals) - a younger child may play in older sections (ie: a 1st grader may play in the K-12 section but a 5th grader may not play in K-3 section).

Talking during the round IS ALLOWED (and encouraged) to increase fun for players!

YOU DO NOT NEED A PARTNER TO REGISTER! If you do not have a partner, we will assign one for you!

AERIAL Bughouse (piece must leave you partners hand) will be on selected boards at the discretion of the TD.

Check in at 8:00-8:30.

First round at 9:30. Approx ending time : 3:00pm.

This is an UNRATED EVENT.

LIMITED TO 75 PLAYERS! Register EARLY!

Link to offical rules to be used: http://www.uschess.org/tournaments/2006/2006bughouse.pdf

There are two modifications to these rules 1) If a team captures the other players KING, the game is over. Only one king must be captured. 2) At all tables designated as AERIAL, the piece must leave the players hand and must be caught by his partner. If the piece touches the table or the floor, the player TOSSING the piece must retrieve the piece and place it in a section marked OUT OF PLAY. The clock will continue during this time.

Due to low registration, we are having a CHANGE OF LOCATION - St. Thomas More School, Lynnwood. 10 min from original site.

ADDRESS : 6511 176th Street Southwest, Lynnwood, WA
