The KING'S Tournament (State Qualifier)

A chess tournament and playday for chessplayers of all abilities, from beginner to experienced tournament competitor, from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Sections for both advanced and inexperienced chess players. Open to anyone grades K-12.

Location:

Wade King Elementary School, 2155 Yew St, Bellingham, WA 98229 (See below for directions to the school.)

Time:

Check-in 8:15-8:45am, first round at 9:30am. Rounds estimated: 9:30am, 10:45am, noon, 1:15pm and 2:30pm. Awards ASAP after last round.

Eligible:

Any student grades K-8.

Format:

K-8 tourney, K-1, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th, and 6th-8th.

Awards:

Generous number of trophies and medals to top finishers.

Entry Fee:

$13 per person

Concessions:

Breakfast items (bagels and cream cheese, donuts, fruits, Belly Timber bars, Moka Joe coffee), snacks (popcorn, chips, sweets, fruit, water, pop). Lunch includes a DaVinci's Sub sandwich, apple, water, chips for $5.00. PRE-ORDER ON-LINE ONLY for lunch. Please pay on-site.

Miscellaneous:

Please bring a clock if you have one. Chess sets are provided.
