Description:Tournament information: When:April 19th, 2008Location:New Westminster (near Vancouver), British Columbia, Canada.Check-In:Check-in at 9:30am sharp or risk forfeiting. Rounds starts at 10am. Second round is estimated to begin at 2pm.Eligible:K-12, invitation only, top rated players in the state, based on the ratings report at the end of February. Must be available to play on April 19 in Vancouver, CA, and grades K-6 must be able to compete in a play-off on March 15 in Bellevue.List of the Top Ten Eligible Players From Each Grade in WA State This list was chosen using the following criteria: 1. Must have played a minimum of 10 games, according to the NWSRS rating system. 2. Must be a resident of WA. Format:Top 2 available players from each grade, grades K-12, compete against the top two BC players from same grades.Cost:FREE - this is an honor to be able to represent the State of Washington against the province of British Columbia.Rules:CFC rules, will be explained onsite...similar to USCF rules, with some differences.Miscellaneous:Commemmorative jackets supplied by BC team to all players. We'll also be having some fun events at lunch time.Grades K-6 – top 4 players that can commit to playing on April 19th will be invited to ‘play-off’ on March 15th at the Chess4Life Center to determine who will represent their grade. Time control for K-6 is G/90. Grades 7-12 – top 2 players that can commit to attending the match will be chosen based on the ratings at the end of February. Time control for 7-12 is G/90. | |||
