Bellevue February State Qualifier Tournament (Chess4Life Hosted) (State Qualifier)

Info:

This is a State Qualifying tournament for players K-6th Grade (with additional 3-round non-qualifier section for K-12). Everyone will play 5 games (excluding byes due to odd numbers). If a player earns 3 points out of the 5 games they qualify for the State Elementary Tournament in April. (Registering for the State tournament is still required after qualifying.) All elementary students are eligible to enter the tournament.

Location:

Located at the Chess4Life Center, 12729 Northup Way, Suite 15, Bellevue, WA 98005. (see below for directions)

Time:

Check-in from 8:30am, first round of play starts at 9:00am. Awards begin ASAP after last round, estimated at 2:00 pm.

Any student grades K-12.

Format:

Tournament for grades K-12, sections for K-1 U1000, 2-3 U1000, 4-6 U1000, K-6 OPEN, and K-12 OPEN (G60 - 5 second delay - 3 rounds). (Note: some groups may be combined if sections are small.)

Awards:

A generous number of trophies and medals are awarded to the top finishers.

Entry Fee:

$18 per person (no extra fee for online registration), $25 after February 11th, 2012.

Pizza and other concessions available on site.

Miscellaneous:

Please bring your own clock and chess notation sheet if you have one, chess sets are provided.
