About GM Emil Anka

This year International Grandmaster Emil Anka will be leading these classes. There may be occasional appearances by NM Elliott Neff, head coach of the nationally known Stevenson (now Spiritridge) chess team and founder of Chess4Life.

Grandmaster Emil Anka is a world class chess player and coach from Hungary. In 2010, he moved to Bellevue to become a full time Chess4Life coach, giving a big boost to chess education opportunities in the Northwest. His former student, Richard Rapport, who earned his GM title at the age of 13, is one of the youngest grandmasters in the World. GM Anka has extensive coaching and competition experience and has run several international chess events. Along with his love of working with children, his style as a professional coach incorporates the most current chess theory and training helping his students achieve success in life and chess.
