Tacoma President's Day 1-Day Workshop

Sign up online for the workshop; After-camp care and pizza lunch options may be purchased on-site at drop-off time.

Principal Instructors:

Experienced Chess4Life coaches. Elliott Neff (with 18+ years of coaching and teaching chess) works closely with all the chess coaches to pass on his experience. He is coach to multiple students in the top 100 list in the US for their age division.

Educational Program:

This camp will focus primarily on tactics in the opening, middle game, and end game at all skill levels.

Daily Schedule:

7:45a.m. Early Drop-off (must be pre-approved by Chess4Life)
8:45-9:00a.m. Morning drop-off
9:00-10:15a.m. Morning Classes
10:15-10:30a.m. Break Time
10:30-11:30a.m. Tournament Style games with analysis of some
11:30am-12:00p.m. 2nd half of morning classes
12:00-12:45p.m. Lunch Break and Morning Pick up / Afternoon Drop Off
12:45-1:45p.m. Afternoon Classes
1:45-2:00p.m. Afternoon Break
2:00-3:00p.m. Tournament games
3:00-3:45p.m. Afternoon Classes
3:45p.m. Check-out
4:00-6:00p.m. After camp care.
*Before-camp care (7:45-8:45 AM) or After-camp care (4:00-6:00 PM) may be pre-paid on-site at $5/hour or part of hour (no pro-rating)

*Pizza lunch may be prepaid on site ($5.00 one slice, $7.00 two slices, plus chips, apples and juice), or please bring sack lunch.

Additional Info:

Please bring a chess clock if available.
There is a $15 cancellation fee.
NOTE: Electronic devices and card games are not allowed. Register early to ensure your spot. $10 discount for registering early (regular price is $65, beginning 4 days before the event).
