Chess Super-Groups

Friday & Saturday Super Groups

Location:

Chess4Life Center

Eligible:

Grades K-8 Category I=600-800 II=800-1000, III=1000-1200, and Category IV=1200-1400 (Students with ratings outside these groups may be accepted into a group if the coach assesses that player as at that skill level.)

Format:

Small groups - maximum 12 (minimum 6) - of similar skill level. LIMITED AVAILABILITY, so register early to reserve your space. 1st hour: G/30 rated match with clocks and recording of moves in tournament-style setting. 2nd hour: analysis/study using tournament games (till major advantage has been achieved). The purpose of this format is to help the students learn directly from their 'match' games while they are still fresh. The coach will identify areas to improve and work on while analyzing the games with the class. Usually all six games will be reviewed with the class.

NOTE: minimum of 6 kids per section required to start. If not enough registered/confirmed by the start date, will contact players and start as soon as there are enough registered, running 6 sessions from that start date.

Cost:
