A chess song by Henry Whitlock

Here is Henry's song (sing to the tune of Skip to my Lou)

I know chess tricks how about you? I know chess tricks how about you? I know chess tricks how about you? They help me play my best!

I protect my pawns because they may become queens

I use knights before bishops in most openings

I castle my king early to keep him safe

Both my rooks want to wait; they can protect me from a back-rank mate

I hide my king till the queens are gone

Using my rooks together makes them strong

On a pawn’s first move-if it’s a jump--I always think of en passant

I find a good move and then I always look for a better one

I think chess is kingly fun!.

Not only is Henry good at writing chess songs, but he is also quite the artist.
Below is a piece of his chess art that won first place at an art camp last year.
