John Graves
John Graves started playing chess in 1986 and became a National Master only 3 years later in 1989. John is also a very enthusiastic and energetic chess coach.Chess background:
- 3-time WAS State Junior Champion
- Several years experience teaching group and individual lessons
- Peak USCF rating of 2327
Numerous great chess results including:
- Held the then US Champion, GM Alex Yermolinsky, to a draw at the WA Open Championships
- 1st place at the Oregon Open Championships
- 2nd place WA State Championships with an undefeated score
