Curriculum

These classes follow the curriculum developed by NM Elliott Neff, working from basic to advanced topics through the six levels of Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, and finally King level. In each class, students review previous material, work on new material, and put into practice what they are learning - in addition, various worksheets to help master topics are introduced.

What Level is my Child?

If your child is rated under 1100 (or unrated), we recommend taking the Assessment Lesson at Chess4Life – this is a private lesson done by qualified Chess4Life coaches to determine the knowledge of a student based on “Elliott’s Chess School” curriculum (Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, or King levels). Upon completion of this assessment, you will know what topics your child shows mastery of, as well as what topics need to be worked on, thus making the time in lessons more effective. The assessment is $35, scheduling is flexible, and the lesson usually takes up to 45 minutes.
Call our 425-283-0549 to schedule and assessment.

Cost

Classes at the Chess4Life Center are just $60/month for one class/week - or for two classes/week, $99/month.

Make-up Class Policy

Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same month as the missed class. To receive credit we must receive notice at least 24 hours prior to the missed class or no make-up will be scheduled. (Exception: missed classes in the last 5 days of the month may be rescheduled to the following month.)
