Jason Yang was the January 2011 Student of the Month - selected because of his attitude, perseverance, and dedication as he juggles a busy school schedule along with serious chess training - while always showing respect and kindness for other students.
While managing a full load of 5th grade school at Spirit Ridge Elementary as part of the PRISM program in Bellevue, Jason in just one year improved his rating from 1304 to 1560 (November 2009 to Dec 2010)!
Jason took the top prize in the GM Training camp Dec 20-24, 2010, with GM Emil Anka - not an easy feat as the competition was strong! Congratulations, Jason!
